Happy Birthday To My Grandmother

I feel like so many people re stuck in today, thinking that their struggles are the worse in the word and that no person can match that struggle. My grandmother was born in 1933. If you know anything about your history then you would know that during the 1930's the "Great Depression" was occuring. In the 1940's World War II was going on and also during that time she had to spend the majority of her childhoood in the hospital due to a heart condition.

In the 50's and 60's my grandmother not only had to fight for African American rights, but women's rights in the same breath. Not only was she banned from certain places due to the color of her skin, but she also could not get equal opportunity because she was a woman.

My grandmother has lived through Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcom X, JFK, Jim Crow, Civil Rights, Women's Equal Rights Movement, Woodstock, a gang of recessions, and the Great Depression and still she stands. And you mean to tell me that you people are struggling?

Come shake my grandmothers hand and you will also be touching history. Happy Birthday to my grandmother and many more to come!

She told me to makke sure I got her on the blog. I love you "Young Lady!"
