More Than Music: Senegal.

Got wind of this awesome documentary in the works titled, More Than Music: Senegal. The documentary's director, Babacar Ndiaye, aims to capture the essence of the Hip Hop scene/culture in Senegal and the importance it serves to their society. I think this is such a dope and necessary project for two main reasons. First, because people STILL have this ridiculous (lowkey ignorant) concept of what Africa is, who Africans are, and what Africa can be. Secondly, because of the crap that most people hear on the radio, they think that Hip Hop is only for entertainment purposes and don't realize the true power of the art form and the culture of Hip Hop.

There is currently a Kickstarter campaign going on for the film and there are 24 days to go to meet their goal. If you want to see this film and see how music could impact a nation for the better, donate whatever you can! And yes, I will be donating to this project-I'm no hypocrite.

Check out the Kickstarter page for more information and to donate to More Than Music: Senegal, A Hip Hop Documentary.
